  • How do I apply to be a Academic Clinical Fellow ?
    ACFs are recruited nationally via HEE. Please see here https://specialtytraining.hee.nhs.uk/Recruitment/Application-guidance for further guidance and timelines of when recruitment opens.
  • What do I need to prepare for my ARCP?
    Please refer to our ARCP page for further information and the documents required.
  • I am a trainee and need to speak to someone in confidence. Who should I approach?
    Do reach out to your Educational Supervisor if you need to speak to someone or our Trainee Programme Director which is Dr Katy Bennett-Richards. If this is something you feel is not appropriate, feel free to contact us at neclrenalreps@gmail.com and we will do our best to help or signpost you where to go. HEE also offers a psychoeducation and support service for trainee doctors - you can self refer / contact them in confidence The BMA offers a well-being service - here you will find useful resources and links. There are other nationally support services available that may be suitable.
  • How do I apply to renal medicine training in NCEL?
    Renal medicine training is done nationally via Health Education England (HEE). Generally, recruitment occurs in November for higher specialty training. Please see https://specialtytraining.hee.nhs.uk/Recruitment/Application-guidance for updates and when the recruitment round opens When applying for renal medicine, you can rank where you want to train according to personal preference. You will be allocated the region based on your overall ranking after the interview.
  • Why am I not receiving any notification of the training days?
    Please email us at neclrenalreps@gmail.com It is possible that your email address is not registered with us.
  • Do I need to attend the training days?
    Yes. The training days are mapped to the renal curriculum and will help you to achieve all competencies by the end of your training. Please contact us at neclrenalrepos@gmail.com or our TPD Dr Katy Bennett-Richards if you are having issues with getting days off for your training days.
  • I can never get study leave to attend the training days. What should I do?
